Granite FAQs:
Does granite have to be sealed?
Yes, all natural stone with the exception of soapstone requires a sealer which penetrates the surface and allows more time to wipe up spills. All natural stone countertops or vanities from KC Kitchen Center come with a complimentary 1 year sealer, but we do offer 10 year and 15 year options. Your Project Manager will discuss your family’s needs and budget to help you determine which sealer option is best for you.

Will heat damage my granite?
Granite is the most heat resistant countertop option we provide, but like any surface do not subject your granite to high heat for a long period of time. You can still place hot pots and pans directly on your new granite countertops, but granite is not indestructible and hot pads are recommended when a high heat will be in contact for several hours.

What colors are available in granite?
Granite comes in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and styles. Anything from white and grey to soft pinks and greens can be available in granite, and there is a large selection of patterns and variations in movement as well. We stock more than 30 colors at our fab shop in Jacksboro, TN or you can choose directly from the collections of our suppliers - Triton Stone Knoxville, GK Granite Atlanta, Nature of Stone Fletcher NC, and others.

Will my granite have a seam?
Every project is different. However, you may end up needing a seam based on the size of the slab, access into the area, and sink or cooktop cutouts. Our measure technician will always try to keep seams to a minimum, however he will discuss your options if you need one.
